Review on SPLITTER Blades MICROJIG Safety Splitter by Jacob Leon

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Doesn't fix unsafe situations, just changes the name.

This is not a splitting device, I think it should be called a "loaded board finder". If you want to quickly find a board with high internal stress, simply tear the 2x4 board apart. To find out if this actually works for those extreme boards that are under tremendous loads that are likely candidates for kickback, I cut out 2x4s. And yes. He joined my blade. In fact, it closed so quickly that it pinched the blade before the wood even reached the splitter. This means the cut was too tight to wrap around the splitter. This stopped the cut. I turned off the saw and removed the pressure board from the blade. The only use I can get from this is that it acts as a third hand holding the material being cut away from the blade and firmly against the fence when using the fence on the right side of the blade. I'm talking right side because you need to figure out which side she likes best. Mine probably looked like many others. Slotted blade alignment is not perfect, but is within 0.002. My fence is the same. Not perfect, but close enough that its relationship to my blade isn't exactly immeasurable, but it's close and in truth can vary by the same 0.002 from one castle to another. I will use a splitter when appropriate. As far as kickback safety is concerned, when a loaded board compresses these splitting inserts, a dangerous condition is created that requires great strength and determination on the part of the user to keep the board being sawed moving forward. For example, if for any reason this required effort suddenly disappears; by breaking the pins on the bottom of the splitter or slipping off the edge of the board. You suddenly head towards the blade. These gapless plastic inserts can't just slide through a clamp cut in wood.
