For your health! Suitable for filling and pouring

I LOVE pouring. Transferring liquid from one bottle to another is quick - with a smaller diameter when I started I really didn't know any better. In comparison, it moves faster! If I'm not using large jars, I stick to the smaller size when bottling. Also, most of my gear is rented and used, so I've found that some of my bottles have different sized holes and this larger tool won't fit. I've since labeled my bottles so I can use this tool in primary and secondary fermentations and as a final step transferred to a smaller bottle so I know how to use the bottling tube and sticks. I also make sure to run water to rinse off after each use, then sterilize with solution (Star-San) and air dry. I've found that plastic only rips once (years) so these items have a lifespan. (I'm not sure if it's the chlorine in the water after washing or the sterilizing solution or reused and lived a hard life ahead of me.) So I was in the market to buy a new one and found this item it is possible to rent. hasn't cracked yet and works perfectly. I love that there is a hook so I can adjust where it sits when I start so the bumper is down to prevent sediment getting in and sucking dirt from the bottom of the bottle. It's a lot easier than using a length of hose and pumping to start the siphon, so it's a one man operation. I can do without aerating beer, which makes most people a little angry. I tried bottling it and after some practice I found I was doing very well. I had a friend who was new to help and it was a little overwhelming/quick for her. For accuracy I slow down and use the smaller one I have, but if it were the only one I had I'd be happy with that. However, I would switch to a spring-loaded pour tube because the top of this pour tube is not spring-loaded and relies on gravity/pressure. Easier to keep clean in my opinion, but sometimes I would nudge something or shake something and it would drip a little here and there. I hope this helps explain some things to those who are just starting out and cheer up those who have been at this for a long time. For your health!
