The small arc lighter turns out to be really cool. We've used it a few times and it continues to run on just one charge. It's a great hiking tool and a good combination of the two things you really need: a fire starter and a flashlight. The flashlight is not very powerful. That's the only complaint, but in any case it's nice to have in emergency situations. It's light enough that you can use it on a day hike without worrying about the weight, and you have great support in case something goes wrong and you get lost (I never get lost, do I?). Either way, this is a great little device and makes a great gift.
