I have downgraded this dryer from 5 stars to 3 due to problems listed below. I can no longer recommend this dryer to my friends (sorry if you bought one based on my comments, which I have now removed). Who knew I'd have to start replacing parts before it was 2 years old?I purchased an XPower stand dryer on 6/2/16. Wrote a glowing review of it which I am now downgrading. After 22 months of LIGHT use (drying one dog, 3 hrs once a week), the dryer began to wobble badly, to the point where it started to tip over a couple of times. After a series of email exchanges with both XPower and its distributor, Air Chaser, I bought a replacement part that both companies recommended, but that is actually the incorrect part. I found out in a phone conversation with one employee that this part (where dryer fits into pole) eventually fails, so I decided to keep it rather than fight over a refund/postage. Then more emails, and I bought a complete replacement base. So far have spent over $50 for replacement parts to repair a 22 month old dryer.I also spoke to company reps and gleaned various pieces of information. Such as, when I stated that I've had many dryers last 30+ years, NEVER had a base go bad, and last year sold a 40-year dryer that was working perfectly, response (I paraphrase) was that things made today just don't last as long as products used to (presumably that refers to "well-made" products). I also learned that the company is in the process of switching over to a "new" style base -- I would have to assume that's because the type of base I'm using is not durable -- but it's not for sale yet. They offered no discount for my replacement base, and of course have not offered to replace it out of goodwill. Based on that attitude and the confused/incorrect information I received from both Air Chaser and XPower, I would say that customer service is not very interested once a buyer who has purchased a product. While the dryer itself is very efficient, heat and air flow controls give you great flexibility of use, and it's reasonably quiet -- I would caution a buyer to expect to replace many of the plastic parts frequently. Had someone warned me of this two years ago, I would have bought a different brand--Edemco, Speedy, or something else that is NOT PLASTIC. Pros: Air flow adjustable to many volume levels; 2 heat settings. Reasonably quiet operation -- it has become louder over the past 2 years although I clean it after every use and have my dryer cleaned yearly by a professional. Very easy to clean. Long cord.Cons: Dryer became dangerously wobbly due to plastic parts breaking off of the base. Customer service friendly but did not fix problem or offer any satisfaction. Have had to replace base after very light use.
