My network includes: 9 IP cameras (7 wireless and 2 wired), 5 PCs (4 wireless), Xbox One and a QNAP NAS (Network Attached Storage) Bay. This router only has 4 ports, so I also use 2 gigabit switches to handle the wired traffic. These are all devices that are constantly connected. I also have 2 phones and 2 tablets that connect frequently. This router does a great job at all of these tasks. I live on a one acre brick ranch. In terms of range, I can see around 115 feet at 100% spin. Not wanting to give neighbors or the street even a chance to use my wifi, I set this device to 75% which covers most of my yard. As with any signaling device, placement is important. Think about and plan for how many levels you want the signal to go through. As a general rule, it's always best to use as many wired connections as possible. I started it on November 8th, 2014, so this router is almost a year old. It is quite powerful and requires minimal maintenance. I connected this unit to an APC Backup uninterruptible power supply (battery) to protect it from power surges and outages. This is an important point as it seems that these devices are becoming more and more prone to failure during power surges or power outages. To install. However, it's always a good idea to have a technician on hand to ensure your device is properly configured and secured. While the router's user interface is basic, it balances the user experience well by keeping advanced settings hidden from view. There are several points of view on cyclically turning on (off, then on) such devices. I turn off all devices on my network once a month whether they need it or not. To sum it up: - Keep it cool. Don't leave it in a baking cabinet as this will reduce the signal range and the overall lifespan of the router. Connect the cable to as many devices as possible. It's worth buying a decent surge protector or even a backup battery. Turn it on from time to time instead of just turning it off quickly. Turn it off and leave it on for 1-2 minutes (I'm measuring myself because I'm impatient). When you turn it back on, let it run for 5 minutes. It's a long time, and yes, it's often shorter, for the device to come all the way back, but if you rush these devices it can sometimes end badly. This router has a handy power switch that's easy to make (no need to fiddle with a plug). All in all, this is a great device. In terms of service life and durability, it surpassed its predecessors.
