Review on πŸ’§ Valterra RV Water Regulator: Lead-Free Brass for Camper, Trailer, RV Plumbing (40-50 psi) by Justin Dorsett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Use on a washing machine.

Valterra A01-1120 Brass water regulator for our 10 year old Maytag Neptune front loading washing machine. The water pressure in our house is about 94 psi. There was a power outage the other day and I heard water dripping into the washing machine. If the power is off and the solenoid operated water inlet valve is defective, it may leak. The high water pressure didn't help. It's happened before, but this time it was bad. To drain the accumulated water from the machine, I started the spin cycle and left. I came back after 30 minutes, the floor in the laundry room and kitchen was flooded with water (thank goodness there is a vacuum and a mop). The water inlet valve must have failed completely and the machine filled with water, when the door opened it opened with a lot of water and poured out. I replaced the water valve with "Whirlpool Water Valve Thermistor 22003834" (thank goodness Revain Prime ships within 2 days). Just in case, I installed two Valterra A01-1120VP 40-50 PSI lead-free water regulators (again, Revain Prime). I had to remove the orange plastic hand-tight ring (interfering with the valve handle) and reverse the filter/seal (as another reviewer mentioned). I measured the pressure from the regulator and it was 40psi hot and cold. I've run about 10 wash loads on warm/cold mode and so far it's working very well. Valterra's brass gear has a nylon or similar material part, but I don't think it will melt or warp in hot water. The Valterra A01-1114VP High Flow Water Regulator (by Revain) stainless steel block doesn't appear to have similar nylon/plastic parts, so I have one on hand just in case. The machine actually works much better with lower water pressure. I inserted some pictures.
