Cute but impractical for outdoors

I was so looking forward to this and put it on our doorstep because it looked so cute. However, it holds water like a wet sponge. If someone steps on it after the rain, a ton of water will flow out. This completely defeats the purpose of a rug for wiping/drying shoes before entering the home. Perhaps it would have been better if there was an extra rug underneath as I saw other reviewers share photos. This would be cute and perfect for indoor or porch use covered to prevent getting wet. I would definitely not recommend it for an uncovered porch.
