Review on MICHELIN X-Ice North 4 205/55 R16 94T winter by Aneta Tkaczyk ᠌

The quality doesn`t fit my expectations, I won`t buy it again.

Optima car 2022, before Michelin it was r17 215 * 55 nexen "gift" from the salon, it dragged in corners, I thought it was bad tires, I wanted Nokian 8 or 7, but it turned out that I bought X-Ice North 4. I ran it in calmly , and then snow fell, ice under the snow in the yards, etc. In general, a normal winter has come, and maybe my car is not for winter, but this rubber is also not for her. In corners, it glides just like nexen, but now the car does not slow down at the most harmless speeds, literally at 20 km / h you have to keep a solid distance. In emergency cases, I press the brake, the abs chirps, the car drives remarkably forward, no reaction, the braking distance is long, my hair is gray, I have never felt so insecure on any car in winter, and rubber, respectively. I stopped driving on the highway after snowfalls, I'm waiting for the asphalt to dry. Based on 15 years of driving experience, subjectively I would say that these little Michelin spikes do not give grip on ice. Yes, there are many of them, but they are extremely small, they look out a little, they don’t hold the car and are not able to hold 1.5 tons. Probably, when the spikes fly out, there will be a good Velcro for a dry frosty or wet warm winter. I bought it based on a test in a well-known magazine, I no longer believe them. The spikes should be big if there is ice on the road, and this is some kind of experiment on people!

Pros
  • Low noise, soft, the spikes still hold
Cons
  • Poor braking, skidding in corners on front-wheel drive
