Indoors and outdoors, rubber ducks are far superior.

When connected to my Uniden BCD436HP, this antenna worked very well. I recently returned from a trip to Mexico (Rocky Point) and when I left Phoenix many of the trunk systems could be read across Gila Bend and all the way from the west side of the Phoenix Metro to Rocky Point about 70 miles I had steady reception south of the border. Training / training flights at Barry Goldwater's training ground. In addition, indoors on a large stainless steel tray as a floor it has a connection to all local highways and even receives towers on the usual frequencies of 3 airports.
