Lazy site description (multiband but not broadband).

"20-1300MHz" - it is extremely lazy to describe this antenna. It has decent to good performance at 135, 180, 480, 720, 975 and 1230MHz. There is no power below 135, and the higher, the wider / better. Unfortunately not useful at all for my application.

Pros
 • Compatible with Uniden Radio Scanner: SR30C, Bearcat BC125AT, BCD436HP, BC75XLT, BCD325P2, BC355N, BCD996P2, BC365CRS, BCT15X, BCD536HP, BC345CRS, BCD996XT, BC278CLT, BC350A, BC350C, BC355C, BC340CRS, BC370CRS, BC700A, BC780XLT, BC785D, BC796D, BC860XLT, BC895XLT, BC898T, BCT7, BCT8, BC75XLT, BC55, BC60XLT, BC80XLT, BC72XLT, BC92XLT, BC95XLT, BC100, SC230, BC200, SC200, SC150, SC180, SC235, BC120, BC72, BC80, BC246;
Cons
 • It was possible to choose a newer model

The higher you place the antenna, the better the signal quality.

I really like this product, it works better than I thought it would, excellent value for money. normal antenna I threw the connector through the ant. port and ran a wire through the window onto my metal roof, now I'm getting signals I couldn't hear before.

Pros
 • Package List: 1 x Antenna (As the picture shows);
Cons
 • Not as thick as other picks

Disappointing performance with scanner

I bought this antenna for traveling. I hooked it up to a base scanner to check. I pressed the WX button to get the baseline reception. He didn't hear any of the weather channels. I turned the factory telescopic antenna back on and listened to 3 different weather channels in the greater Boston area. It works well enough to hear my local public safety frequencies, but I don't use it further than a few miles.

Pros
 • Frequency range: 20-1300MHz; Compatible with: Public Radio Scanner, Ham Radio, Two Way Radio, Walkie-Talkie, Cellular; SWR: <2.0; Impedance: 50 ohms; Feature: Magnetic Base; antenna height: 47 cm; Cable Length: 3m RG58/U cable; Antenna connector: BNC connector;
Cons

Indoors and outdoors, rubber ducks are far superior.

Connected to my Uniden BCD436HP this antenna worked very well. I recently returned from a trip to Mexico (Rocky Point) and when I left Phoenix many of the trunk systems could be read across Gila Bend and all the way from the west side of the Phoenix Metro to Rocky Point about 70 miles I had steady reception south of the border. Training / training flights at Barry Goldwater's training ground. In addition, indoors on a large stainless steel tray as a floor it has a connection to all local…

I really like this product, it works better than I thought, excellent value for money. Installation was quick with my unidentified Bearcat bc895xlt scanner which had poor signal with the standard antenna. threw the plug at the ant. port and ran a wire through the window onto my metal roof, now I'm getting signals I couldn't hear before.

Pros
 • Compatible with Whistler Radio Scanner: WS1040 WS1088 WS1010 WS1080 WS1025 WS1065 TRX1 TRX2;
Cons
 • Slightly wrinkled

This is the one I needed.

I am not happy that I had to pay $20 for this antenna when I originally paid only $10 but that was 20 years ago. However, I am not using it for its original purpose. This is a guide to parking the front of my car as I can't see my front bumper because the hood is down. I've been using one since 2005 and my old one finally broke. I had a mount so all I needed was the antenna. I bought one but it was too short. I bought another one and it had a screw on the bottom. It had a clear photo showing it
