To be honest, the price initially put me off. After all, the Raspberry Pi 4 is supposed to be a $35 computer, right? This kit is almost 10 times more expensive. What exactly do I get for $300? - Raspberry Pi 4 2GB with 32GB pre-installed and ready to use - Integrated 7" touchscreen on-screen display (could be bigger) - Separate power supply to provide more than enough power for Pi 4, screen and add-ons - Integrated sensor/input/layout for many learning projects - Keyboard, mouse, game controllers, headphones and many add-ons - Stunning clamshell design - Integrated software/hardware. Just turn it on and it boots up and is ready to use. - Great support and reliable company (Claire is the best! - very responsive and accommodating) - You can upgrade pi 4 to another one purchased separately. Easy to swap out I don't think you could buy all the parts individually and get a cheaper price. And it wouldn't be nicely integrated. Basically, if you want a Raspberry Pi laptop with lots of nerdy features, this is great. Compared to other tablets, this is the market leader. There's really nothing else like it other than Duinokit, which however uses a tablet as a display (and a remote VNC). I actually use it as a laptop with a second screen. The PI4 is fast enough to work well in the browser and 2 gigabytes is enough for most of my needs. And if the screen is too small, I can connect a larger monitor via the second HDMI port. (Hint: you'll need to leave more space between your adapters. So now you'll need to unscrew the Pi and connect the HDMI cable that way.) I look forward to playing with all of its gizmos. I think there are some interesting gaming and educational opportunities. A child will love this gift. Of course he has minecraft, retro games and as they get older they can move on to python/sensor programming. This is something to carry around and be proud of owning. And what a great way to introduce them to an alternative operating system like Raspi. Great purchase and I hope to enjoy it for many years to come. I highly recommend it. Add to cart, order and enjoy!
