Excellent sanding block; The rubber base holds the block in place when placed on a flat, hard surface.
Ideal whetstone for smoothing out unevenness in steel or aluminium. Place the object you want to smooth or level on this block and gently rock the object to smooth and level the material to be sanded. It's a necessary tool for the right job. I haven't used it for knife sharpening, but I don't see why it won't work for this task.
