Good product but USB doesn't work over long distances

Overall I'm happy with it. Successfully extends HDMI and USB with 100ft Ethernet in my case. While attempting to add a third room to my setup, I exchanged several emails with their support - they suggested I use an HDMI splitter and connect a second HDEX80 KVM to power the third room. I set this up and the picture quality comes up, but the USB signal can't reach the third room. On Windows, the "USB Detected" beep sounds indefinitely, as if it could almost detect the signal, but it's not enough. USB not recognized on Mac. As a test I hooked the second run up to a much shorter ethernet line (maybe 10 feet) and I was able to get the USB ports working, but if I then added a powered USB hub to add more ports then it works remove the USB again. When I first go to Room 1 with 100ft ethernet from the source, I use a powered USB hub to get the extra ports and it works great. However, when connected to a second HDEX80-KVM, it turns out that the USB signal degrades and cannot be transmitted very far or through another USB hub (even if the hub has its own power supply). ", and just run two different HDEX80 KVM runs from the source room to Room 1 and Room 2, each with 100 feet of Ethernet. Then each room can have a powered USB hub to get more ports, and it It just means that I need to rethink how I run ethernet cables throughout my house.
