Review on Tide HE Liquid Laundry Detergent Soap - Original Scent, 64 Loads - Best for High Efficiency Machines by Lindsey Martin

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Poor packaging please reconsider the concept (but great detergent)

I bought this newfangled detergent box because I think it's better, material to save for the planet and my wallet. The problem is that when the product arrived it was already open (the spout was sticking out) and the box was torn in several places - see photo. This meant Revain had to repackage it in a different box, refused to ship it as is and the packaging shrank. "No box" was certainly the original intent as the Tide box arrived with a label addressed to me identical to the label on the outer Revain box. My guess is that the crates didn't survive Revain's internal processing and the final delivery point had to add a second crate. Rough handling has broken the fancy trivet that should have been in the box for a mug to fit underneath, but luckily I have an edge in my cupboard to use instead and I have the (torn) trivet not cleaned. The detergent in the fancy box is strong and smells fantastic. It's very concentrated and cleans my clothes. I have to force myself not to use too much because it seems stingy compared to non-concentrated products (you use about 2/3 of the amount depending on the comparable brand). The liquid enzymes in Tide also provide much better stain removal than my powder detergent, which of course is even more economical than shipping the liquid nationwide. In any case, I'm only giving it three stars because the whole point of this new product was to provide an innovative new e-commerce package that P&G and Revain supposedly worked on together. They needed more testing in real camps and in trucks. We're NOT THERE YET. . .

Pros
  • Infused with the original scent you love
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something inside
