Review on πŸ“ Accurate Growth Chart: Height Indicator Measure for Precise Monitoring by Todd Phillips

Revainrating 1 out of 5

We were warned that if you stretched it it would be inaccurate, but mine was inaccurate BEFORE I stretched it!

I ran a free ECG and pulmonary function clinic for my patients last week. I measured each patient's height and weight in advance to ensure the computerized PFT calculations were correct, and eight patients in a row reacted violently when I gave them their measured height. They all thought they were taller, as one would expect, and I assured them that this was a normal loss of spinal height that happens to everyone as they get older. Office. Why pay $400 for a fancy second hand medical altimeter when 2 Revain products can do the same for $50. It sits on the door frame next to my 400 pound digital scale and has a large print with easy to read numbers and the words "Made in America" proudly embossed on one end. After so many consecutive patient complaints that were higher than I measured, I decided to investigate. It was positioned correctly on the wall with 0" and 0cm marks on the floor so it had a very accurate starting point and shouldn't pose a problem. But as shown in the attached drawing, despite the problem of parallax, there is 1/8 inch for every 6 inches of length. (The tape measure is zeroed at 73" and already 1/8" at 67". I thought maybe it was made overseas and the metric scale might be accurate, so I checked this page. On the left, the metric scale on the right side was just as inaccurate! I still can't believe it. What does the quality department do in this factory all day? They sell a product that can only do one thing - and that goal requires precision... That's why they buy folks and all the head of quality assurance has to do is make sure the measuring scale is on line and double check that they line up how long can it take?

Pros
  • Still 100% Made in the USA.
Cons
  • Obsolete Model
