After having a router/modem combo forever, I decided to live with it and buy a separate Google Nest modem and router. I'm SO HAPPY I did it. With my previous setup (Arris) I was getting an average of 20-30 Mbps over Wi-Fi LESS THAN 20 FEET from the device! And there it worked - I was getting 10-20 "connection not found" errors a day in my internet browser, ugh! Nest thermostat turns off in the middle of the night - double phew! Set up a google socket and I get 70Mbps in the same spot! Hallelujah! It also works seamlessly with my Nest thermostat and Chromecast and ALL connection issues are gone, gone!
