Optimized Google Nest WiFi Router - AC2200 Mesh Wi-Fi Router with 2200 sq ft Coverage (Renewed) Review

The product did not work right away - contradicts the description itself. It so happened that I took it out of the box and connected everything - no light indicator, no detection in the Google Home application. Actually the product is very good but not worth contacting this company as they don't even repair items. Very disappointed.

Never again will I buy an 'updated' product through Revain and certainly NOT ANYTHING sold by Geek Alliance. First I ordered TWO and received ONE. Second, a Nest router I received was horribly worn and black spots could be seen on it from anywhere in the room. This makes me wonder what the original owner, seller or seller did with this device.

I got a bunch of them during the Revain Prime days. I was keen to upgrade my WiFi by adding it to my existing Google Wi-Fi network. However, as soon as I connected one of these, I received a notification that it wasn't compatible with my OnHub devices. So Google Wi-Fi and Google Wi-Fi with OnHub are different for some reason. Had to return them as I didn't want to erase my current investment and start over. You could save time by clarifying (or making them compatible).

The main product is great, I returned 2 of my upgraded routers and just bought 2 new ones for an additional $50. As mentioned in other reviews, the equipment I bought was dirty and worn out. The scuffs came out with the cleaning cloth, so it was likely that they weren't actually "updated" before shipping. The first router I installed had no problems. The second block did not respond. This had a tear on the top and scuffs on the bottom and sides. Installation instructions were not included. I added this to my existing Google WiFi mesh setup. I tried setting it up but Google Home couldn't find it, I tried to reset the network then it saw it for about 5 seconds. After trying for another hour I gave up and sent it back. After that I had to spend 2 hours resetting my initial settings - I had to reset each of the wifi points which was a complete headache. I won't try to be cheap…

After having a router/modem combo forever, I decided to live with it and buy a separate Google Nest modem and router. I'm SO HAPPY I did it. With my previous setup (Arris) I was getting an average of 20-30 Mbps over Wi-Fi LESS THAN 20 FEET from the device! And there it worked - I was getting 10-20 "connection not found" errors a day in my internet browser, ugh! Nest thermostat turns off in the middle of the night - double phew! The product worked but not as well as advertised. The router alone claimed coverage of about 2,200 square feet. I'm in a smaller room, a few hundred square feet, and am getting less than 1MB/s. This is not a one-stop solution for Wi-Fi dead zones as advertised. My $30 WiFi extender performs better. But that's not the main reason I'm leaving this review. I got this router when I moved to a new location and wanted to upgrade the standard router/modem kit my ISP sells. This was definitely an upgrade for all my dual band devices. My laptop, phone, Fire TV, etc. became more stable and had much faster download speeds (no real change in download speeds). The problem was adding smart devices.
