I tried wearing compression stockings a few years back, but they were so tight and uncomfortable! These are the perfect amount of compression. Very comfortable. They arrived the afternoon of July 18th, so I put them on and wore them all that evening. I read that you take them off at night when you sleep. I wore them again today and already the swelling has gone down on my left leg and with the swelling, the pain is much better also. I can't believe they worked so quickly! I did order the ones that do not cover the toes, because I wanted to be able to wiggle them and have air on them. They are a little long for me. I measured my calf and ordered the size accordingly, but I'm only 5'5" tall, so I just fold the top down and it works. I'm planning to order another pair with closed toes. I can't rate the durability as yet, so I'll try to remember to come back and amend my review later.
