Review on 🔧 Efficient Pitman Arm Removal with Performance Tool W142 Pitman Arm Puller by Colin Watkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worked on an Audi A4 B5

I bought this to press the ball joint in the front left lower rear wishbone (aka the control rod) in an Audi A4 B5. The hole in this tool was too narrow to fit all the way in, but I managed to get enough contact area on the tips to be successful on my second try. I followed the advice of others - I pulled this tool and hit the control lever several times with an ordinary hammer. The ball joint popped out shortly after a couple of medium pops and I was ready for a loud pop with my earmuffs. As someone else noted, the screw has also changed - there is no longer a 1/2" socket and now has a much larger 24mm screw head. Luckily I had a 24mm head in my toolbox. AutoZone I gave it 4 stars due to the undersized slot and lack of a 1/2" jack as shown in the Revain photo.
