This Keurig K-Duo is the best of both worlds in one compact machine: a one-shot coffee maker that holds our largest travel mugs and a drip coffee maker with a large glass carafe. We've been using the Keurig 2.0 for many years now and it was fine on weekdays when my husband and I made coffee at different times. We were interested in a decanter based drip system for weekends or parties when we wanted to make a big pot to share. I have tried different brands of single serve coffee machines and brewers in the past and have not been satisfied. I was concerned that the Keurig K-Duo would be too big for my counter based on the photos online, but to my surprise, this machine wasn't much wider and the Duo was actually about 1.5 inches shorter. We used a new coffee maker. I've been slowly getting used to the new brewer for about a month. Below are my previous reviews: Plus: - Single-serve brewer holds our largest travel mugs, including those that will never fit in a Keurig 2.0, and our largest ceramic coffee mugs - Large glass carafe with easy-to-clean, wide-opening top - System heats up when turned on up quickly (although it's louder than the Keurig 2.0). fragrant coffee - Drip coffee portion holds 12 cups of coffee - The water tank is wide and easy to clean. Cons: - The water tank is in the back and if you don't have it on the edge of the counter you may have to rotate the machine to get the tank in and out. - The water tank appears to be smaller than previous models. - Controls require a button press pattern, not a menu of preset options like we had on our Keurig 2.0. It's easy to understand, but if you're trying to make coffee when you're running out of the house, it can be frustrating when you don't hit the start button and the machine falls asleep on you and doesn't make your coffee. (This is my nitpick, but just a warning to make sure you press the start button and hear it start cooking.) - The knobs and controls are on the top of the machine - keep that in mind when selecting, where you want to place the device . . These controls can be hard to see if you have low cabinets or something else above the unit — I prefer the Keurig 2.0's backlit front glass in that aspect. Coffee filter in the shape of a drip coffee basket / carafe side. You need filters in the form of a basket with a maximum size of 12-15 cups. There was also talk of using a water filter in the tank, but neither a filter nor a filter holder was included with the device. As far as I know, our previous Keurig 2.0 machines included a filter holder and sample filter, but the Keurig Duo doesn't have filters. Overall I like this new Keurig Duo device so far. It just takes a little getting used to after years of using old Keurig single-piston engines. It currently works with all of my K-Cups and our reusable K-Cups that we put loose coffee in, including a set of reusable K-Cups that have parts sticking out of the sides that don't fit the Keurig 2.0.
