Review on 🔧 Enhanced Performance MOOG RK620170 Control Arm and Ball Joint Assembly for Optimal Results by Bryce Wohlman

Ball joint broken, poor quality -- What's the matter with you, Moog?

I have always used Moog suspension parts because of their quality. Something has changed with this company, although I should have found out a few years ago when they decided their "lifetime guarantee" meant 3 years / 36,000, with receipts to prove it, not in real life, No Questions Asked Guarantee They Used. be. I used to just change the ball joints to Moogs on this car but now the bushings have become unusable so I decided to go on the entire arm. While the arm and bushings appear to be the same as the OEM (time will tell), the ball joints on these assemblies are clearly non-standard. I was expecting this arm to have the standard Moog ball joints for this car, but it doesn't. In fact, the threads on the ball joint on one of these levers broke off when I was tightening it to spec (with a good torque wrench) - I couldn't believe it as the nut only turned on the pivot. It makes me nervous that the other site (which I've already put together) might not be secure. Instead of doing all the work of taking my subframe assembly back apart to remove and reassemble the entire arm, I installed a new, better ball joint in this arm. The only reason I'm not sending them back is because it would add a lot of unpaid work to my day. I've always been a loyal Moog customer, but next time I'll consider other companies.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some bugs
