Review on 🔩 Gates TCK328 PowerGrip Timing Belt Component Kit: Superior Quality for Perfect Engine Performance by Brian Thao

EDIT: Please note that my original review (below) reflects what came with this set at the time of my purchase. Two years later, when I bought a gate kit for another Subaru, I was disappointed to learn that the original, exactly the same as the dealer, had tensioners and rollers replaced with unnamed Chinese parts (pulleys) and a Canadian-made tensioner ( which, according to recent reports, causes noise and belt slip), I can no longer recommend this kit. However, you can buy identical individual parts here at Amazon at a reduced price, so I recommend this instead of buying this unfortunately no longer good product. which was to be expected as all the pulleys/pulleys (except the smallest) were exactly the same as the ones they replaced. I don't mean they were the same shape or quality, I mean they were exactly the same parts, from the same manufacturers, with the same part numbers as on the car. as some people have said below, the smallest idler pulley was not identical to the one on the engine and no point in risking it - buy the part for this from the dealer, as does the water pump (it only makes sense to replace it, since you are there (although most dealers don't do this as part of their service as they claim Subaru water pumps never fail) as the pumps sold with this kit are suspect (see other reviews). No problem installing this (they even give you a tool to open the belt guide which was very helpful) and it's been about a year and no problems since. This was the first Gate kit I've used (>5 timing jobs on various Subaru) and I won't be going back to the dealer for parts for it - for the cost of a belt you get the entire kit you're looking at guessing if you need to replace the pulleys/idlers (you need to!).
