Will not fit mahogany post - too large
What if your post isn't exactly 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"? The pole I bought was smaller than these sizes and the cap didn't fit. Gluing doesn't work either because the edges protrude. So I had to make a collar to accommodate the larger diameter. I only had one post so it wasn't that bad. Make sure your post has the right dimensions, that's the lesson.
