This thing is awesome. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. Is it a necessity? No, but it sure is nice! The magnet is strong enough to hold the hose in place, making hose removal and replacement a truly one-handed evolution. Most clamps I've used in the past hold up well, but make using and replacing the hose a little painful. This thing solves all those problems. I use ours for the Hoser platypus and it matches the snorkel perfectly. If you have very thick insulated hose you may not be able to attach this clip to the hose.
