I managed to get it on my Camelbak Antidote but it was definitely a frustrating process. I finally decided that I would either wear it or try it, so I had a friend hold the hose while I opened the loop with two pairs of pliers and slipped it over the hose. Absolutely necessary if you use a hydration bladder! Never again will you reach for that elusive hose to fetch water.
