You need to set it up properly for it to work!
The ratchet on the antenna is very difficult to adjust to hold the antenna in place and can cause the antenna to move when boating in rough water. or when the antenna is lowered while the boat is being towed. If the stop was higher in a tight position I think it would make setting easier. If I buy another mount it will be a plastic model. BUT, it looks really good because of the chrome finish!
