Review on Valentine V1 Radar Detector Power Cord - Mirror Wire Mount with Inline Fuse RJ11 by Andre Bennett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's pretty clear

Ordered for BMW and Fiat. Works as advertised, no instructions really needed. It's pretty self explanatory, connect the black pin to the back of the wire harness for ground, connect the red wire to the back of the same wire harness for 12v. You will most likely need either wire harness diagrams or a voltmeter. On a BMW this is fairly easy to find out, usually on a BMW the brown wire is ground and the green wires are 12v power in key position 1 and the purple wires (or light purple whichever you prefer) are power in position Key 2 , and the blue wires are power when the engine is running. There is a brown/black wire in the mirror harness, a black/brown wire, magenta with blue, green with blue, and the voltmeter has confirmed that the purple wire is supplying power when the 'key' is in position 2. I expected it. The pins are fully seated in the harness connector with no metal protruding. It was a bit trickier on the Fiat, the pins didn't fit as easily and required a fair amount of force to insert, but they went in and went all the way into the back of the seat belt. The ONLY reason I only gave it 4 stars is because one of the wires has a fairly "loose" RJ-45 jack on one end, which means I have to wiggle the connector a bit to get the bring V1 to life. But it works fine if I just leave it plugged in.
