I think it depends what you use it for. I use it as a medicine/gripe water/gas drops/syringe/pacifier/phone/water bottle holder near my nursing chair and it works great. There is still room to put a cup of tea. Raised sides are great as none of the small items roll away.

- The tray may easily scratch surfaces such as coffee tables or countertops
