My dog loves to ride in gross, dirty clothes (read: POCK) and I needed a collar for her that was easy and quick to clean. I also wanted her to be thoughtful because she's a dark colored dog and I'm concerned about visibility when we go out at night. That fits the bill! The only downside I see is that it doesn't breathe at all due to the nature of the material. She wore it tight (not too tight, but the right fit) and she developed an abscess-like ulcer under the collar on her neck. After a week, when she did not remove the collar, she was fine and the wound was clean and treated with Neosporin. But now I keep the collar loose so it doesn't happen again. I don't put a leash on him so I'm not worried about her walking off of him. And she herself can't get rid of it. It's just that she can wear her tags and be more visible and easy to clean. Like me, you can leave this collar loose and use something else for walking, or not have your dog wear it all the time to allow the skin to breathe.
