Using this phone was as easy as inserting my carrier's SIM card and turning the phone on. Redmi OS is instantly familiar to anyone familiar with Android. The bad (read: slightly annoying): It has virus issues, like many Mi and Xiaomi apps, which are useless to me as a North American. Intermittent advertisements when you want to play something in Mi Music Player. More tech-savvy people can apparently handle it. The GPS has occasional glitches (can't tell which direction you're looking on Google Maps or the location is very inaccurate), but a simple restart of the phone fixed it every time. Cellular antenna/card signal is quite weak, I often lose signal when walking into certain buildings. What's good: With all this, the price is absolutely unbeatable. The phone is very fast, the camera is decent, the screen is sharp, the battery life and charging speed are excellent. The fingerprint reader works better and faster than any other phone I've had before. I could go on. This is a reliable smartphone. If you're broke or just don't want to pay for a $900 phone in the next 2 years, buy Xiaomi.
