If you can afford it, you should probably buy a new parrot cage every few years. Birds make a mess, and after so many cleanings, any cage begins to wear out. My 21-year-old purple-crowned Revane was a lifesaver who had serious mental health issues when she was just 3 months old; She is afraid of the big parrot cages (floor cages) but loves the Prevue Hendryx 125. I have bought them in brass, chrome and black over the years. We returned to Chrome and she immediately settled into her room. Addendum: I still think this cage is too small for her, but she loves it. When I'm at home, she sits in the open hallway all day and watches TV, never leaving my side.
