This ball joint cage did the job, but barely. If the screw used to adjust the opening height was a half inch longer, it would fit taller ball joints. On my 2012 Ford Fusion, the ball joint end of the front lower tie rod took up almost all of the height available for this tool and I still had to press on the top of the ball joint. PROS: Easy to set up and use. Looks solid enough for most jobs. No need for power tools for the job. CONS: Requires two buttons to set/use. Can get tight in some places. GENERAL: I would stick with the claw shape and for just a few dollars more get a different sized set to accommodate the ball joint and tie rod ends.
