For comparison, my baby is 2.5 years old. He is 30 pounds. I increased the size to a 4-5 because the reviews said it was a size up and I wanted to be able to layer this as needed. It's thin enough on its own to be used in a car seat. But you definitely want to go bigger once or twice. The handcuffs keep his hands from falling into his palms and they are a lovely shade of blue. Nice jacket!
