End Times Shovel

Cold Steel seems to have always had a good reputation for their gear. This shovel is no exception. It was delivered and arrived quickly, everything is intact and gives a feeling of quality in the hand. I'll admit it's a bit heavy, but in a framed backpack you don't tell when you're in the mood. The edge is sharp for a shovel and could potentially cut you if you're not careful. It could also easily be used to trim small branches and possibly small seedlings. The shovel is also great for breaking through tough mud. The shovel isn't too long or bulky to carry outside of a backpack, but it might be worth buying or making a case for it. Because the blade is sharpened from the start, the risk of nicks or cuts without a sheath is very real. Given the price and the starting quality, I would recommend this shovel. It's very strong, the steel is thick, and while it's a bit heavy, it will outperform cheaper folding shovels in the long run. Not to mention it doubles as a "throwing ax" when you're bored. Just be careful as there have been reports of handles breaking because of this. After all, this is a shovel, not a throwing axe.
