My original fan after 1.5 years who came with a brand new TiVo Romio finally decided it would continue to rumble and squeak and made it clear that he was generally dissatisfied was. I decided to replace the fan, I wasn't ready to take a new TiVo so it was the perfect solution. I had all the tools (so I knew it was the fan and not a loose heatsink or a dying hard drive). It was nice to get a new fan when the tools were ready. These aren't amazing tools, but they'll handle opening up the TiVo and replacing the fan with no problem. I got all the parts back, replaced them as factory new as possible, and the fan works and is quiet. It's hard to find a fan this small, and one as quiet as this one is even harder. This product is worth the extra cost.
