It was easy to install on the armrest pad of the original center console cover. Simply slide the seats forward, remove the 2 long plastic screw covers to remove the hinges, 4 small cap screws and pull up. Then, using a whole handful of Phillips screws, unscrew the bottom of the old cover and attach the old gasket to the new steel bottom plate. The new base plate came with bushings, washers and pivot bolts so it's a nice tight fit. You can adjust the up and down stiffness by tightening the new bolts. A NOTICE! There is a small plastic tab under the bezel (which can break with age) which causes the lid latch to get stuck in the down position. I removed the latch from the new panel and am very glad it no longer gets stuck and breaks in half. Very good update 5 stars.
