years of waiting. good for me

To be honest I was very hesitant to buy this monitor as I've been looking for the right ultra wide IPS since x34 was introduced. Since then, every subsequent product has been wrong in some way, enough to avoid. Model LG 34gk950(f or g) which I was really hoping for. It was sad to see that there were so many quality control issues. I was skeptical about the aw3420dw since Alienware is notorious for its overpriced mediocrity. Luckily, a little research goes a long way. This monitor uses the same Nano IPS panel as the LG 950, but Dell has much better quality control and customer service. I have had no issues with this monitor and am very glad I serviced it. The picture is colorful, bright, fast. Features don't lie. Many will say aesthetics are over the top, but honestly it's great, and if you're paying for the price you're getting. pretty boring and useless. With how much it has been passed on, it is not impressive. Don't buy this monitor if you're looking for RGB overload. Uninstalling the software is only possible if you know how to block automatic software installation and the software is not required for the monitor to work properly. options on board. Not a big deal since you control most of them from the gsync panel, but it would be a nice upgrade. The white finish is all about fingerprint capture. Place it, clean the prints and DO NOT TOUCH IT. lol. What I like: - The thing works. I'm running it on Ultra with everything on 2080ti. Solid 120fps 2ms all the time and it looks great. Multiple built-in presets. If you're not a big fan of calibration, it offers a ton of pre-calibrated settings for a variety of uses. This monitor is very durable along with the stand. It really looks like a quality product. So far no problems with the panel. No dead pixels etc. Overall I would definitely buy this again. If you're on the fence, do it. For real. I've been waiting for a monitor like this for years and I'm glad I finally found it. Will keep this updated in case I run into any problems in the future.
