Review on Z COLOR Pointed Stainless Knitting Needles by Hannah Curi

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality. Some of the dimensions shown are incorrect. In general I'm happy.

Received these today so cannot comment on durability. But at first glance they are better than I expected. I've started using the 4.5mm set (US size 7) and so far they're great. was a good price ($11.85 at the time of writing this article). In my particular case, all 55 pins are functional (although there are a few quirks detailed below). For the price, this is something incredible. So I got 5 stars. Here are some highlights and then more details below. ADVANTAGES: + Very light. I was surprised how light the packaging was (all 55 needles together). + Smooth. Basically no friction. (If you are a beginner, this may be a disadvantage. ) + No burrs or scratches. +$0.22 per needle. $1.08 for a set of 5 needles. CONS: - Small dents on several needles. Nothing is so bad that they become unusable. Slight metallic odor. Unpleasant but not harmful. (Maybe it's just my pregnant nose.) - There are no size markings on the needles themselves. The sizes are only marked on the bags. Some dimensions are inaccurate. The lack of size markings on the needles themselves alarmed me. This can lead to a number of problems in the future. (If you lose a bag, you don't know what size kit to match. If you have multiple kits in your rotation, you might accidentally put the wrong kit in the wrong bag at the end of a project. If you take a needle and find it again later, maybe you won't be able to match it to the right set.) I solved this problem by buying an inexpensive needle measuring tool to add to my knitting set. Adding the cost of this tool to the cost of this set brought the cost of the needle to $0.35 and the cost of the kit to $1.69. In other words, it's still a lot. However, I will likely use the measuring tool for more than just keeping this set in order. Purchasing a measuring tool also allowed me to see the size errors listed below. bags. Not sure if this is an issue with all kits or just mine. Here are the details:+ The pouch labeled 3.5mm (US size 4) contains 3.75mm needles (US size 5).+ The pouch labeled 2.5mm (US size 1.5) contains 2 needles. Needles 75mm (US size 2). + The bag marked 2.75mm (US size 2) contains 3mm (US size 2.5) needles. So my package didn't have a real 2.5mm kit or a real 3.5mm kit. The actual sizes these needles are are actual US sizes and the original listing is missing some sizes anyway so I don't think I lost value on these two sets. On the other hand, the mislabeled 3mm kit is a duplicate of the kit listed and included. So I got 10x 3mm unnecessarily instead of 5x. This can be considered a drop in value - about $1. It doesn't bother me too much. the sizes, the ones these pins actually have are actual US sizes and the original listing is missing some sizes anyway so I don't think that lost value in those two sets.
