I am a beginner knitter so I bought all the bamboo wooden needles with straight and double pointed ends. I was under the impression that wooden needles are easier for beginners. I have been knitting for over 50 years. Currently I mostly knit fine lace or lace patterns in sport or heavier weight yarns for baby blankets and plaids. The high yarn count and deliberately slipped and combined stitches mean that the needles have to slide, and nothing does that better than metal. I took each needle out of the box and checked the size against my needle template and also for rough edges, they were the right size and the needles were smooth. The tips of these needles are perfect.

Received these today so cannot comment on durability. But at first glance they are better than I expected. I've started using the 4.5mm set (US size 7) and so far they're great. was a good price ($11.85 at the time of writing this article).
