This gooseneck lamp socket is a little disappointing as it is rated 100 watts or less but cannot support my 100 watt EVA/EVB vapor lamp. It flickers when you adjust the intensity of the lamp and then goes off and fails to turn it back on on the second try. The whole system seems to be overheating because it turns back on after waiting a few minutes, but then starts flickering and turns off again. And the gooseneck itself cannot bear the weight of my hanging vapor lamp, it bends down. With that in mind, I cannot recommend this product if you are considering lowering your performance and expectations.
