It was very easy for me to assemble although it took some time. I had to do this to a petite woman with a 50 inch TV. Let me tell you, lifting a 50-inch TV overhead to connect the two devices wasn't easy, and it took some creative thinking. There aren't many TV mounts that allow you to do this and that was one of the reasons I chose these. The movement on the mount is good and it is very solid (when properly hung). Take your time finding the center of your bobby pin. I found my DIY wall placement wobbly and didn't have standard stud spacing so this was the only option I had in terms of mounts as TV mounts are built with the assumption that your wall has the correct standard stud spacing. This is another plus for this mount as you only need one bolt. Because my studs are so misaligned I had to compromise on bracket placement, but even if it's off center I can rotate the bracket to position the TV properly. Installing a TV mount is not easy. I've been asked by several people to make them after learning I can do it myself. You can't underestimate the benefits of finding just one bolt and being able to connect two parts of the mount (wall mount and TV mount) together by simply lifting and lowering. I'm not sure why some people were having a hard time, but if you take your time and go slow it should be pretty easy. Make sure you have all the parts in the box and assemble everything you need. Sanus customer service is pretty good if you spot any problem. I bought a second one for another slightly smaller family room TV as it worked so smoothly. And FYI if you are missing a screw etc, ask Sanus to send you a replacement as these items may be overpriced at your local hardware store or hardware store.
