A must if you have heated gloves. The batteries in my Gerbing gloves last about 2 hours on the lowest setting. On long journeys, leaving before dawn, I needed to keep my hand warm longer. Maybe all day! The only solution was a direct connection to the motorcycle's electrical system. So I got this along with a heated Gerbing jacket liner (which offers a separate chain for the gloves) and riding in 40 degree weather is no longer a problem. Warm hands and warm body at the same time!
