Review on πŸ”Œ Minn Kota Adaptor Cable: Optimize Multiple Electronics Connections effortlessly by John Bailey

Check your sonar first, don't Minn-Kota!

I assume the cable is fine but it only gets one star because Minn-Kota has completely decayed. I have a Minn-Kota Terrova with a built in sensor, not even 10 months old. This spring I decided to install a basic Lowrance sonar. Minn Kota's compatibility with basic fish finders is minimal and now that Lowrance has discontinued many of their basic fish finders it's very difficult to find a fish finder that will work with my very expensive built in trolling motor converter. I finally found a Lowrance device that claims to work with my trolling motor. Order the device, cover and this adapter cable. Everything is going well until I unpack the device. Eventually, Lowrance updated his block, and Minn-Kota never caught up. Instead of a 6-pin friction connector, the device now has a 5-pin mains connector and a 7-pin sonar connector. So this adapter cable will never work with it. I called Minn-Kot tech support and they were lost like a blind rat in a dark room. Now I've been told I need to buy a US2-10 sonar cable. So now I have to send the cable back and look for cable -10. I do it locally to make sure it's the right cable before I buy it, it's getting ridiculous; I say this because I have already had to cancel an entire order due to incompatibility with new sonar. Very bad result from Minn-Kota. If they weren't the only trolling motor game in town, I'd be ripping everything off my boat and never saying the company's name ever again. What should have been a very easy deal and $130 sonar install turns into a daunting quest to hopefully piece this puzzle together. adapter cable if necessary. Save yourself the trouble of chasing down a bunch of idiotic details, because Minn-Kota is just plain lazy.
