190 CFM Fan, 8ft Duct and Speed โ€‹โ€‹Controller - All Five Star Models

So Revain has to work together when it comes to putting multiple articles on the same page, and you can only view one article versus each one individually. Also reads PITA reviews. I've noticed this in other areas as well. Come on, Revane, pull yourself together. So I bought a 4" iPower 190 CFM fan, an 8 foot x 4" aluminum duct and an iPower speed controller. I use all three to remove heat and moisture from a 4" x 11" grow room located in a 11" x 11" bedroom on the 2nd floor of my home. Easy to set up as most grow rooms are in basements. iPower 190CFM fan: I installed the fan in a side room next to my grow room. It's actually in the closet in this room. I attached it to the wire frame shelf with plastic cable ties. So that says a lot about the vibration level of the fan. It runs very smoothly and relatively quietly - and it's not overly heavy. Now if I had this in a grow room where I already have slight fan noise (x5) and oscillating fans it might help, but not so much that it gets too loud when the room is being worked on or when the door is closed . I didn't want to mount it in the grow room as I had already used up the power to run the lights and heater there - it's cold in Michigan at the moment so sometimes the heater is needed at night when the lights are off. I have a timer that turns on and off during the day and turns on multiple times at night. It pulls out hot air very quickly and it's at medium speed with the speed control and really helps stabilize the humidity. I'm still working on the exact runtime and speed, but it does the job well. Oh, and as another reviewer mentioned, it runs quieter when running at full speed and unregulated. Just a thought if noise is an issue for your setup. It's very well made and, as I've noticed, runs very smooth and quiet and has very strong traction - even on medium. I wasn't sure if 190cfm would be enough, but my requirements aren't high, so I decided to start there and move up as needed. For now, this seems more than enough. 8ft Flexible Duct: I use this with an iPower 190 CFM exhaust fan to remove heat and moisture from my grow tent. Everything came in a compact package, which is very convenient. Two clamps in the kit are not cheap but of good quality. I used it to go through two pieces of drywall at the top of the grow room and the other end connects to an exhaust fan in the next room. I taped it temporarily until the 4" inlet I bought arrived. I didn't have to stretch it all the way, so compressing it made installation a lot easier. I didn't have to cut it so I can extend it later if I need it too, and I don't have a length of tubing at the same time to cope with. Other than that, it's pretty standard aluminum helical ducting - maybe a little thicker than the ones I've used and thinner than others, but about what I'd expect at this price point. If I end up letting it out the window, I'll buy more of the same hose. I have something similar on my dryer that I recommend for fire safety over the plastic type and this one seems a little better than the other one I bought at Home Depot. In compressed form, it's definitely easier to work with. iPower Speed Control: Not much for this article. I wasn't sure if I would need a high speed fan. So I figured I'd take it just in case, and considering the low price, it was worth it. Money. It's made by the same company as the fan, so I'm not worried about damaging the fan motor. I hooked it up to a 24-hour mechanical timer broken down into 15-minute intervals, allowing for more flexibility. I wanted the timer to plug into an outlet and a speed controller to plug into. If you are setting up something in a similar configuration I would recommend this timer: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JLS13SY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 of the dial to allow the timer to connect and out of the way rotating timer dial. It worked very well. So yes, the speed controller does what it's supposed to - controls the fan speed. Conclusion: I can definitely recommend all three elements to anyone with similar requirements.
