I've been using a Cuisinart grinder for ten years and it's finally gone. I liked that it had a screw-on metal beaker that could be poured into a stein or other container, but this grinder's "beaker" is built into the top of the grinder, and the plastic lid that slides on makes only one Losing weight mess. I also doubt that you can wash it off. I have a suspicion that water is getting under the blade into the engine area. The little brush was a joke. I use a damp paper towel for the cup area and rinse the cap. But it runs quietly and grinds well. There are certainly better options, but the price-performance ratio is "acceptable" with this device and nothing more and nothing less. cuisinart did a good job of sanding but it was really noisy but it was easier to clean and it was a compromise I was okay with but now that I have kids I had to be more mindful of the mornings when I had to use it and just take the cuisinart to the garage or something. quiet enough that I could grind in the kitchen without waking anyone up.
