I'm just starting out with wedding photography and using flash is a game changer, especially at night during the reception and of course in low light! Godox V860II-S works great! The company I am currently shooting for uses only flash on the camera all day! This is what they look like and I'm tired of borrowing their lenses and flashes (they use a Canon 5d Mark III), these cameras are monstrous! They're heavy and bulky, and they're too big to carry around. The Godox flash is significantly smaller and I was afraid the batter wouldn't last the 8 hours I needed it to. To my surprise, this flash performed admirably - in fact, it was on my camera for a total of about 4 hours with the camera on. Battery lasted all day with over 50% capacity left β β I'm very impressed. Godox lost out because of their material - I, like everyone else, want the hot shoe mount to actually be metal. The plastic doesn't feel 100% secure when screwed in - it actually slips out once (probably user error). However, it appears that Godox has cut corners here to stay within that budget budget. I've only used it on 4 weddings and so far it's holding up well. It's lightweight, the plastic feels solid, and the form factor is perfect for my Sony a7iii. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to Sony's very expensive external flashes.
