
Pea-sized beans (1 cm), same shape and size. They are even white (not shiny and not polished). I've used them to pre-bake a few custard tarts and they allowed the crust to bake without bubbles - way better than the actual dried beans and rice I used! The rectangular containers are plastic but very thick and strong, attractive enough for regular use. For some reason they are about 3/4 full of beans instead of full, which isn't a problem but seems a bit cryptic. I had two containers of these and that was enough for a 12" x 9" rectangular crust. The beans have not discolored or deformed - they lie still and look like new.
