Review on Premium Silk White PLA Filament 1 by Dan West

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good thread once you get the hang of it.

The thread was well packaged and the vacuum bag also has a zipper. Inside the bag was a desiccant bag. The coil was well wound and dry. This is a yarn with a very high pearlescence. My experience with such threads shows that they are softer but very smooth. You are really struggling with your extruder. They stick or slide. If they slip, they easily wear out where the extruder bites and cause jams. Because of this I have found that higher extruder temperatures produce less viscous flow and less back pressure. 228ºC on my MK3 just right. Also, my default PLA profiles work fine. The gold is very yellow in color and has a pleasing appearance. I opened the E-Calibration Vase box and found that my E-Multiplier was correct. The vase-like box, 0.40mm thick, was strong and showed no signs of weakness or delamination problems. My first object is now printing. I don't see anything unexpected or terrible about the filament, I like it and would buy more if needed. Extruder 228º bed 60º, speed 70mm/s on Prusa I3 MK3. Please note that I use lower acceleration and jerk settings, this really improves the print of these filaments.

Pros
  • Printing Tips: 50-60℃ Heated Bed Recommended, Recommended Printing Temperature: 195-220℃ To avoid tangling, insert the filament into the spool holes after each use to fix it.
Cons
  • No power
