This is a great device. it is light, functional and very beautiful. The reason I gave it a star is because unlike the ceramic model, this model consists of three separate pieces that are riveted together. In most cases this isn't a problem, but when you fill it *fully* - when you want to brew multiple cups of coffee at a time - something will leak right where the cone meets the cup. Base. It's not enough to get into the base, but it's a little confusing. UPDATE: The leak has gotten worse over time. The rivets holding the cone to the base are clearly a design flaw and are at least sometimes not torqued properly. Her ceramic and plastic models are made in one piece, so nothing can happen to them.
