Review on SunFounder 37 Modules Sensor Kit V2.0 – Compatible with Raspberry Pi 4B, 3 B+, 2B, A+, Zero – Includes Raspberry Pi Board by Jeff Perez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's a bit frustrating at first but once you get over the kinks this kit delivers

When I first received the kit I was disappointed because I couldn't get any of the modules to work. You need to know that the code for the modules is not in the book and the book asks you to go to the website. Do not visit the site! The latest code is in their Github repository, so you will need an internet connection to do this. I contacted Sunfounder support and to my surprise they were willing to help me solve the problem. When connecting the cable from the Pi to the GPIO board (according to pages 17 and 18 of the book), don't follow the pictures in the book. The book shows the cable routing as expected, but the connector is reversed so it has to be flipped over the breadboard. That means you can't just work on a breadboard. Luckily, this cable is a standard 40-pin IDE cable, so it can be swapped out if needed. So if you have everything plugged in and it doesn't work, try flipping the cable. This is how the modules I originally tried to set up worked. However, I am very happy with this set. I have lots of ideas for things to do. Only 4 instead of 5 stars because of an unexpected internet connection and swapped cable plugs. However, if you can handle these things and want a kit, go for it.
